Principles of Flight Instructor

At FlyRyte, we like to keep things simple. This page is broken down into two parts, the first is the three-step flight planning section, followed by the weather. The second part is a bunch of links that we think you might find useful. As always, if you would like to see something added, just get in touch!

Step 1

Check Airspace

It is important to know the airspace you will be flying in

Step 2

Check NOTAMS

Check if there are any notice to airmen which may affect your flight

Step 3

Complete UF101*

*UF101 is an application to fly in controlled airspace, only complete if you the airspace map indicated it is required

Step 4

Complete Risk Assessment

A site and risk assessment should be completed for every flight. Download a copy here!

The next thing that you will need to check is the weather! As you get closer to the flight you will use different resources, so we have laid them out in the order we think works best!
