Ireland Starts Delivering Take-Away Using Drones


Ireland is the first country in Europe to use drones to deliver fast-food.


The description of the service shows that the food will be delivered in just 3 minutes. Faster than a Deliveroo Cyclist? You Bet it.

Customers will need to select a landing site for the drones, such as a patio or driveway.


The service will initially be rolled out to around 30,000 inhabitants in the southern suburbs of Dublin.

If the attempt is successful, similar measures will be implemented throughout Ireland.



The business owners offering this new service foresees success and expansion to other regions of the country, because in his opinion there is a great demand for such a solution on the market.


Which companies have Already Started drone delivery?


The food delivery service Just Eat has begun offering takeaway by drone as part of a pilot programme in Oranmore, Co Galway.

Another company called Manna Aero, based in Galway offer a drone delivery flight testing trial in the Oranmore area. Drones offer a fast, convenient and environmentally friendly way to get everyday products right to your door.


Ultimately, the company is to have 50,000 delivery drones, which will collect the ordered fast food and deliver it to customers in Ireland and Great Britain.
