Malta - Training for Subcategory A1/A3

Remote pilots flying UAS weighing more than 250g in Malta are required to obtain “Proof of completion of the online training” for operating in Subcategories A1 and A3.

This requires completing training by thoroughly studying the presentation and video lectures ( you may see a familiar face!) on the Transport Malta website. The entire syllabus is provided in the EASA.

After this drone operators may book a theoretical exam on tmcad.idronect.com and once the booking is confirmed, sit for the theoretical exam at TM-CAD offices in Lija, Malta. The examination has a maximum duration of 1 hour and comprises 40 multiple choice questions, with a pass mark of 75%. Guidance on the examination system is available here.

Upon passing the exam, candidates will be issued with a Certificate of “Proof of completion of the online training" containing their unique Remote Pilot Identification Number.
